Born in 1959, I have been living and working as a freelance artist in Mannheim and Madrid since the early 1980s. The friendship with some students of the Düsseldorf Art Academy and the encounter with Joseph Beuys were decisive for my life. The opportunity to present some of my own works in the exhibition "MIT FÜR GEGEN" (Beuys and his students, Frankfurter Kunstverein 1976) was the decisive factor in taking up the profession of visual artist. After training in graphics and already during my basic studies at the Städelschule Academy of Fine Arts in Frankfurt/M, I began to exhibit actively at home and abroad. In 1996/97, however, solo exhibitions in the "Haus Rheinland-Pfalz" in Dijon and in the Heylshof Museum in Worms/Rh were the last of these activities for the time being. Due to a systemic illness I had to give up painting and sculpting. After two years of convalescence, I found a new artistic challenge. Video, photography, text and sound became my tools, the internet a long-missed means of presentation. In 2015 I returned to the analogue world with a large solo exhibition at the University Hospital in Mannheim. Since then I have regularly shown current works in my Odenwald studio.
